Vandals steal headstone from Westport cemetery

(WESTPORT, Ind.) – A grave marker was stolen from a cemetery south of Westport on Saturday night. 

It happened at Bear Creek Baptist Church which is located at 3945 West County Road 1000 North in Jennings County. 

The headstone was for Jack Neukam who passed away in December of 2022. 

The church confirmed that no other headstones were damaged or stolen.

“We’ve seen vandalism and other acts, but this is the first for a headstone to be completely removed,” a church official said.
