(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The annual Versailles Polar Plunge will take place on Saturday, February 14.
The annual fundraiser raises money for the Special Olympics of Indiana.
Participants need to raise a minimum of $125 for the opportunity to take part in this event, challenging individuals and teams to take an icy dip to demonstrate their love for the cause.
For 27 years, thousands have taken the icy leap to support more than 19,000 athletes across Indiana.
The event begins at 11 a.m. with a run/walk. Registration for the plunge starts at 11:30 a.m.
A costume contest and Opening Ceremony lead into the main event at 2 p.m. The day includes awards for the top fundraiser, followed by a post event celebration at the park.
A Cool School challenge involving South Ripley Junior High School, Milan High School, South Dearborn High School, Dillsboro Elementary and defending champion South Ripley High School will take place during the plunge with the top-raising school earning a trophy.
There will also be food, basket raffles, face painting, games, music and more.
