Versailles Pumpkin Show crowns King and Queen

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The Versailles Pumpkin Show kicked off Wednesday with the opening ceremonies and the King and Queen Contest.

Rising Sun’s McKenna Phillips and Lawrenceburg’s Mateo Rico were crowned as Queen and King. 

Both Phillips and Rico receive a $500 scholarship from the Versailles Lions Club and $1,000 scholarship from Ivy Tech.

The festival dates back to 1889 and is the oldest pumpkin show in Indiana. Here is a schedule for the rest of the weekend:
