(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Versailles is getting some nationwide recognition for its trail system.
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) has named Versailles as one of 28 communities to earn the first-ever designation of a Trail Town.
The inaugural award recognizes communities that demonstrate strong trail infrastructure, a commitment to trail funding, an active local trail organization, a culture of community engagement, and a sustainable trail stewardship plan.
The IMBA stated that trails benefit communities as a whole, from increased tourism and small business growth, to improved health outcomes and stronger community identity.
Versailles and Nashville, Indiana only the only two communities in the Hoosier State to receive the inaugural designation.
