Veterans banners coming to Rising Sun this summer

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – Ohio County veterans will be honored this summer through a military banner program. 

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 of Rising Sun is currently accepting applications. 

They plan to unveil approximately 60 military banners in May around the time of the Poppy Collection. They will be displayed until Veterans Day.

“This is a way for us to honor local heroes while also beautifying the downtown area,” said Auxiliary member Pam Elza. 

The cost per banner is $50 and the Auxiliary will cover the additional expenses.
