(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Veterans in Decatur County will receive a gift card to a local business during an event on November 11.

The Decatur County Community Foundation (DCCF) is hosting a Veterans Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Veterans Service Office at 315. South Ireland Street.

That is a new location this year and offers additional space and more parking.

“This year’s change in location is a strategic move to help familiarize our veterans with the local Veterans Service Office and to introduce them to Director Ken Mobley,” explained DCCF Executive Director Tami Wenning. “Ken has done an excellent job working with our veterans to ensure they receive the benefits they’ve earned.”

Veterans simply need to stop by the Veterans Office on November 11 from 10-2 to pick up their gift card.

The event is made possible by the Ella Jo Briggs Veterans Fund which was launched with DCCF in 2017.

Other Veterans Day activities (some of which may require proof of military ID) that have been reported to the Foundation to date include:

  • 8am – Breakfast at North Decatur
