Want to serve your community? Consider becoming a volunteer firefighter

(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Several volunteer fire departments are hoping to add some new members. 

Joining a volunteer fire department is a great opportunity to help your neighbors and also be there for your community when every moment matters. 

It’s also a way to be part of a team-environment and learn new skills, such as basic firefighting operations. 

Many of our communities rely on volunteers for not only fires, but also vehicle collisions, medical emergencies and even storm response. 

Without these volunteers, nobody would show up when you called 9-1-1. 

You don’t have to have any prior firefighting experience to join most departments in our area as a volunteer.
