WATCH: Friendship, Versailles Legions conduct flag retirement ceremony

(FRIENDSHIP, Ind.) – Two local American Legion posts conducted a flag retirement ceremony on Monday night.
It was held at the Hudson’s Old Mill Campground in Friendship and the ceremony involved the Friendship and Versailles American Legion’s.
The ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion members conducted the appropriate way to dispose of an unserviceable flag.
There were 2,000 flags that went up in flames during the ceremony.
