(HOPE, Ind.) – Many of us know about the annual Groundhog Day tradition in Pennsylvania.
The superstition revolves around whether a groundhog sees its shadow. If it does, it means six more weeks of winter. If it doesn’t, it means spring will arrive early.
You don’t have to drive to Pennsylvania to witness this unique event as the Town of Hope has held a similar tradition since 2014.
It took place this morning and ‘Hope the Groundhog’ did not see its shadow, predicting an early end to winter.
Hope’s event is held in conjunction with Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators every year.
Unfortunately, the groundhog in Pennsylvania did see its shadow so we’ll have to wait and see which one is correct.
