(CONNERSVILLE, Ind.) – The Whitewater Valley Railroad is among the organizations that have been impacted by the flooding.
The railroad has been forced to suspend all operations due to the damage sustained by the high waters.
Repairs will not be cheap and it won’t be possible without community support, the organization said.
The volunteer-based nonprofit headquartered in Connersville is currently seeking donations to maintain the historic railroad.
“Every contribution directly helps clear debris, repair damaged track, and ensure this piece of living history remains safe and open for families and rail enthusiasts for years to come,” the Whitewater Valley Railroad stated.
Donations can be made through Zeffy, which ensures that the railroad will receive all funds and there is no platform fees. Click this link to access.
The mission of the nonprofit is to preserve the historic branch line, restore vintage equipment, and provide educational programs for all ages.
