YES Home receives $440K grant to bolster programs and impact

(AURORA, Ind.) – The YES Home is receiving a large grant to strengthen their programs that serve the youth while increasing their impact on Southeast Indiana.
The YES Home (Youth Encouragement Services) has been in existence since 1981 and provides emergency shelter care and long term residential programming to young people with moderate to severe mental health and behavioral issues.
The nonprofit is receiving a $440,550 grant from the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) to support a sustainability and capacity building plan designed to strengthen the YES Home’s ability to provide high quality, trauma responsive care while ensuring long-term organizational stability.
The work is expected to help enhance staff development, expand leadership capacity, and increase family support services.
“This grant will allow us to strengthen the systems, programs, and partnerships that help youth thrive. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue to expand the work we do at the YES Home and throughout our community,” said YES Home executive director Amy Phillips.
The YES Home plans to offer community wide training opportunities in partnership with Finding Hope Consulting’s Trauma Responsive Care and Applications of Resiliency Trainings.
They also plan to bring a Training of Trainers for Ukeru Systems, a national crisis intervention program that uses trauma informed care without restraint or seclusion.
The YES Home is one of 168 organizations that received the grant through IYI’s Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana initiative.
