(OSGOOD, Ind.) – Family members and friends are mourning the passing of a young mother after a long cancer battle.
32-year-old Elizabeth Stone had battled Stage 4 Colon Cancer for several years.
“The cancer spread throughout her body, and she fought hard to stay alive for her 5-year-old son, Ezra,” said her cousin, Chelsea.
Elizabeth was given just hours to live this weekend and friends and family visited her during her final moments.
She fought hard to the very end but passed away on Monday evening.
“No parent expects to lose their child so young, and Donna, Elizabeth's mother, is now preparing for funeral expenses she never thought she would have to face,” Chelsea said.
Sadly, this is the second time that Donna has had to bury a child after losing her son a few years ago.
Chelsea has created a Go Fund Me which will cover funeral costs as well as funds to support Ezra.
You can access the Go Fund Me by clicking this link.
“Our family appreciates any and all donations. Anything helps! If anyone is unable to donate but wants to help our cause, please share and help get our fundraiser out there,” she said.
Elizabeth lived in the Osgood area but had attended Franklin County High School.
