The rescue happened outside of the hospital Monday

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital staff members are typically focused on saving humans, but were given a different task on Monday.
There were 12 baby ducklings that had fallen in a storm drain outside of the hospital’s emergency room.
Emergency room personnel along with the maintenance team sprang into action and Greensburg firefighters also responded.
The crew members carefully rescued each duckling and all 12 were reunited with their mother.
“The moment was a small but powerful reminder: in Decatur County, Indiana, compassion runs deep—extending far beyond patient care and into everyday acts of kindness,” said DCMH Marketing & Communications Manager Liz McCoy.
