(RALEIGH, NC) – A charity race in North Carolina on Saturday tested the physical limitations of each runner.
The Krispy Kreme Challenge tasks participants with running 5 miles and eating 12 donuts in one hour.
Runners went two-and-a-half miles to the NC State Belltower, ate 12 donuts, and then had to jog back.
"It's not fun on the way back, that's for sure, it's donuts in the stomach that don't want to stay down there, that's for sure," a runner told ABC 11 in Raleigh.
This NC State student-run event began as a challenge among friends and has transformed into the largest donation drive for UNC Children’s Hospital. It raised $160,000 for the hospital on Saturday.
