Alabama deputy avoid serious injury after tree falls on car during Isaias

(NEWTON, ALA.) – A southern Alabama police officer avoided serious injury after a tree fell on a car during Hurricane Isaias on Friday night.
A Dale County Sheriff’s Department deputy was on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash that involved a car striking a downed tree in the road.
The deputy had his dashcam video rolling while investigating the incident.
Another tree fell onto one of the vehicles and also struck the deputy.
“We are so blessed that the deputy injured last night is back home with his family after being treated for minor injuries,” the department said on Saturday.
The driver of the car was in the vehicle at the time the tree fell and had to be extricated. The department said that person did not have serious injuries.
