(AURORA, Ind.) – The community is invited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Amy Irons Meyer Foundation on Saturday.
Amy passed away from cancer in 2015 and left behind a legacy of caring for animals.
“She did so much for animals through her rescue efforts, whether it was fundraising, fostering dogs, plus many weekends helping to transport dogs,” her husband, Patrick, said.
Patrick and her family created the Amy Irons Meyer Foundation in 2015 with the mission to improve, enhance and maintain the Aurora Dog Park.
The foundation has invested more than $100,000 in the dog park over the past decade.
Amy’s family is encouraging dog owners to stop by the park for a community celebration between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
It is located at 102 Manchester Landing Street in Aurora.
