(AURORA, Ind.) – The community is invited to the annual Hard Hat Hangout in Aurora.
The event is similar to touch-a-truck as there will be all sorts of trucks and equipment on display.
It was created by Aurora Utility Superintendent Randy Turner in conjunction with Aurora Main Street in 2017.
Hard Hat Hangout welcomes kids and adults to get an up close look at the various equipment.
“Children can sit in the driver’s seat and get the feel of a big rig, as drivers and operators answer questions about their jobs,” said Aurora Main Street executive director Nancy Fahey Turner.
Kids will also receive hard hats, beach balls, construction ducks, wrist bands, tattoos, hot dogs and drinks.
Aurora Utility Water Foreman Adam Boyd was an organizer of the event last year.
“Saturday was a big hit! Clint Siekman and I had a line for 3 hours straight, nonstop,” he said.
Hard Hat Hangout will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 14. It is located at the Aurora Lions Club & City of Aurora parking lots on Main Street.
