No damage to the home and nobody hurt

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville firefighters spent several hours on the scene of an incident Wednesday morning.
Crews responded to a home on State Road 229 near County Road 1400 North around 6:45 a.m. due to a report of smoke in the house.
Firefighters were able to determine that it was caused by insulation falling on a furnace.
There was no damage to the home and nobody was hurt.
Batesville Fire Chief Brian Hardebeck says this serves as a good reminder to change your filters and have them checked by trained technicians.
While space heaters were not an issue today, Hardebeck said anyone using a space heater should keep it at least three feet away from anything flammable, always keep it on a flat surface and plug it directly into the wall rather than using an extension cord.
