(AURORA, Ind.) – The Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police brought Christmas to hundreds of children this weekend.
They held their annual Cops and Kids program on Saturday where 246 children picked out gifts at the Aurora Walmart.
Agencies that were represented included the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Greendale, Aurora, Lawrenceburg, Dillsboro, Milan police departments along with retired officers and the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.
Each child was allotted $140 and there was a total of $34,000 spent to bring Christmas to the kids.
Laughery Valley FOP member Bill Halbig credited All American Car & Laundry for their support.
He added that Laughery Valley FOP secretary Pam Taylor also played a critical role in making the event possible.
