(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville Main Street has launched a shoe drive fundraiser in an effort to raise money for community events.
Gently worn and new shoes are being collected at Amack’s Well, Indiana Pet Supply and the Southeastern Indiana YMCA.
Batesville Main Street will earn funds based on the total weight of gently worn used shoes and new shoes collected.
The organization is partnering with Funds2Orgs, which will issue a check for the donated shoes.
Proceeds will directly benefit Main Street community events and downtown revitalization efforts.
“We know many people have extra shoes in their closets they would love to donate. By doing so, they help us raise money for efforts to revitalize and support our downtown district through events, business partnerships, and community connection," said Amy Lunsford, Executive Director of Batesville Main Street.
"At the same time, these donations create economic opportunities for families in developing nations. It’s truly a win-win for everyone," she added.
By donating hoes to Batesville Main Street, community members can help give shoes a second life while making a positive impact around the world and at home.
