Batesville man after hurricane: “Definitely won’t do that again!”

(DESTIN, Fla.) – A Batesville resident and popular local musician had an unforgettable experience this weekend.
Tim Volz is the lead singer of CRB and he’s been on vacation in Destin, Florida.
He decided to ride out Hurricane Isaias and was ready for the worst.
“I was prepared with supplies, and even had a guitar to help pass the time,” he said.
Isaias made landfall on Friday night and Volz had a front row seat to the storm rolling in.
“I’ve never seen it rain so hard that you can’t see 2 feet in front of you, the wind sounded like a jet taking off” he said.
He added, “Then it got eerily quiet for about 25 minutes when the eye hit.”
The aftermath is an experience he’ll never forget too.
“Power was out for 24 hours. It made life interesting with no electricity, no cell service, no internet, no plumbing,” he said.
Volz went outside Saturday and saw the damage firsthand. He noticed all of the trees that were downed and the debris too.
The singer is back on the beach today but he never plans on riding out a hurricane again.

“Riding this storm out definitely wasn’t for the faint of heart. It was intense and I definitely won’t do that again,” he admitted.
Hurricane Isaias has claimed the lives of four people and left thousands without power.
