(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville High School Principal Andy Allen has been named the next superintendent of the Plainfield Community School Corporation.
He will replace longtime Plainfield superintendent Scott Olinger who will step down after 17 years in the role.
Plainfield Schools said Allen was chosen based on his leadership experience, educational vision, and commitment to students, families and the community.
“His proven track record of student achievement and innovative programming makes him the ideal candidate to lead Plainfield Schools into the future,” Plainfield School Board president Jessica Elston said.
Allen’s tenure at Batesville High School began as a teacher before he served as assistant principal from 2009 to 2013. He has served as principal for the past 13 years.
“Being named Superintendent of the Plainfield Community School Corporation is an extreme honor and humbling experience. I appreciate the professional manner in which the Plainfield Community School Board members conducted the interview process and the confidence demonstrated by their affirming actions tonight,” Allen said.
Allen will officially begin his duties as Superintendent on January 1.
