(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The worker strike at Batesville Products in Lawrenceburg continues into its fourth day.
Union workers started the strike on Monday due to what they say are poor workplace conditions, excessive overtime, wages and benefits.
Workers are organizing with Teamsters Local 135 and are holding a solidarity action from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Organizers said this the solidarity action will bring together union members from across the tri-state, pro-labor elected officials and other supporters.
“Workers at Batesville Products have made it clear that they are standing together and fighting for respect, dignity, and a real voice on the job,” said Dustin Roach, President of Teamsters Local 135. “This solidarity action is about showing these workers that they are not alone. When working people stand together, we have power.”
