Benefit today for Milan grad, young father

(MILAN, Ind.) – A fundraiser will be held for a Milan graduate and young father on Saturday.
20-year-old Cole Moore suffered serious injuries after an early morning crash on State Road 129 in Switzerland County in March.
Moore was driving to work and fell asleep behind the wheel after being up the night before with his 2-year-old daughter.
Cole said he thought he was going to die but there was a miracle as an off-duty firefighter happened to be just a few miles away and came upon the crash.
He is still recovering from serious injuries to his spine and neck.
Cole and his wife were just married in February and found out two weeks before the crash that their second child is on the way.
Benefit on October 17
The community is invited to a benefit for the Moore family that takes place from 3-10 p.m. at the Milan American Legion.
It will feature live music from Rachel Holt, along with a silent auction, raffles, family-friendly activities and more.
"As they continue adjusting to this new reality, their family is balancing medical appointments, recovery, raising their sweet 2-year-old daughter, and preparing to welcome their baby boy this October," benefit organizers said.
The Legion is located at 318 East Indian Trail in Milan.
