Milan grad, young father hurt after serious crash

(MILAN, Ind.) – A Milan graduate has a long road to recovery after a serious accident.

20-year-old Cole Moore suffered a spinal fracture, neck injuries and other wounds from the crash that occurred on State Road 129 south of Pleasant in Switzerland County.

Family members say Moore was driving to work and fell asleep behind the wheel after being up the night before with his 2-year-old daughter.

Cole said he thought he was going to die but there was a miracle as an off-duty firefighter happened to be just a few miles away and came upon the crash.

Moore was air-cared to a Cincinnati hospital and is expected to be out of work for upwards of a year.

“He is having physical therapy 2 days a week and multiple doctors appointments,” his family said.

Cole and his wife were just married in February and found out two weeks before the crash that their second child is on the way.

A benefit account has been set up at Civista Bank and it is called the “Cole Moore Fund.”

Anyone that wants to help this young family is encouraged to stop by a Civista branch and make a donation.
