BHS Drama Club to perform 'High School Musical' on April 24, 25

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Batesville High School Drama Club will present Disney’s ‘High School Musical’ this coming weekend. 

It will take place in the BHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25. 

A cast of 40 students will bring the romantic comedy to life on the 20th anniversary of the its release. 

The plot follows two students from very different high school friend groups who dare to try something outside their comfort zones. 

Jaden Basler and Alysun Simon portray the lead characters and some other student-actors include Lexi Harris, Emily Merkel, Levi Essick, Vince Wilson, Charlotte Trossman, Grace Saner, Eli Doll, Kalem Grooms, Becca Knight, Ethan Rahschulte, and Henry Garrett. 

Several other students round out the cast while others will assist with sets, lights, and sound.

“With catchy songs and a fun family-friendly storyline, this is a production for all ages to enjoy,” Lisa Barnett, the show’s director, said. “We encourage everyone to buy their tickets ahead of time, due to the popularity of this particular show.”
