Billie’s Painting With Purpose has donated more than $10K in 2025

Funds from artwork go toward Switzerland County nonprofits

(VEVAY, Ind.) – A Vevay painter continues to give back to the community in a big way.

Billie Pierce began painting in 2015 after she was involved in a tragic UTV crash that claimed the life of a young girl.

“God gave me painting in 2015 after a tragedy took my will to live for a while,” Pierce said.

What began as a form of therapy blossomed into a way to help others. She recalls feeling shocked when someone first offered to pay for her artwork.

“It really didn’t feel right to profit off of the paintings, so I wanted the money to go to a good cause,” Pierce said.

Billie is often painting and when she sells an item, the funds are donated to various Switzerland County charities.

She has just reached a milestone this year as her artwork has raised over $10,000 in 2025.

“We’re just getting started,” she said.

Some organizations that have benefited from the program include the Switzerland County YMCA, New Hope Pregnancy Center, Grieving Family Support, Switzerland County Animal Shelter, Ohio Valley Youth Boxing, Children’s Advocacy Center, BigStuf Youth Camp and volunteer fire departments.

Since starting this initiative, Billie’s Painting With Purpose has raised over $40,000 for Switzerland County nonprofits.
