(CINCINNATI) – Bright Fire Chief Kendall Eberhart was honored as the Hometown Hero during the Reds game on Saturday night.
The Hometown Hero recognizes veterans as well as first responders throughout the Tri-State.
The crowd cheered Eberhart as was featured on the jumbotron during the second inning. He was joined by a few others members of the department during the game.
Eberhart joined the department in 2011 and has served as fire chief for the past two years.
He has been instrumental in the equipment upgrades, properly overseeing operating funds and building relationships with local government and law enforcement officials.
Bright Fire Department member Francesca Rapuano said Eberhart’s Hometown Hero award is well-deserved.
“Chief is always looking out for what is best for the members of the department as well as the community,” she said. “The men and women of Bright Fire are proud to serve along Chief Eberhart and are thankful for his continued encouragement to be our best and for all of the sacrifices he has made to make Bright Fire and EMS a place we love to call ours.”
She added that Eberhart’s future pursuits include continuing to grow the department’s fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and educational footprint in the community, while continuing to provide the best service to citizens.
