Brookville police officer arrested on Domestic Battery charges

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A Brookville police officer was arrested over the weekend after an alleged fight with his girlfriend.
37-year-old Brandon Neuenschwander has served on the department since 2024 and was off-duty when the incident occurred.
Court records show he and his girlfriend were arguing after a night of drinking and a Brookville police officers and a Franklin County deputy responded to their apartment for a physical domestic report.
Deputies say the argument involved Neuenschwander placing his girlfriend in handcuffs, pushing her and tackling her. There was also a child present in the apartment that evening, according to court records.
Neuenschwander has been charged with three felonies that are Domestic Battery, Criminal Confinement and Neglect of a Dependent. He has also been charged with misdemeanor Domestic Battery and Intimidation.
The girlfriend was also charged with Neglect of a Dependent, according to court records.
Neuenschwander has resigned from the police department, the pice chief confirmed.
Police Chief Terry Mitchum also recognized the responding officers for their professionalism.
