Described as a saint for the Digital Age

(ROME) – The Catholic Church will canonize a teenager as a saint on Sunday.
Carlo Acutis was born in 1991 and passed away from a Leukemia battle in 2006.
The British born-Italian was known as a computer whiz who used his technology skills to spread the Catholic faith on the internet.
He has been dubbed the “Patron Saint of the Internet” for his efforts to digitally document Eucharistic miracles and other elements of the faith.
Acutis will become the youngest contemporary saint and first-ever millennial saint during a ceremony in Rome on Sunday.
A necessary step to becoming a saint requires a miracle performed after death, which the Vatican recognizes two associated with Acutis.
The canonization was originally scheduled for April but was postponed following the death of Pope Francis.
Acutis is one of two who will enter the sainthood on Sunday.
Italian-born Pier Giorgio Frassati passed away in 1925. He was known for his enthusiastic witness to holiness, his love for mountaineering, and his charitable work with the poor.
