(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Charges have been refiled in a case that claimed the life of a Lawrenceburg woman while she was crossing a road.
39-year-old Ashley Quicksall was struck and killed while crossing the intersection of U.S. 50 and Front Street on September 5, 2024.
Dearborn County investigators say 50-year-old Cory Lyon was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
Officials say a toxicology report showed Lyon had alcohol and THC in his system.
Lyon has been charged with Operating a Vehicle Causing Death, Reckless Homicide, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Authorities added that an autopsy showed Quicksall had twice the legal limit of alcohol and was also under the influence of marijuana. She allegedly crossed U.S. 50 while the light was green for east and westbound traffic.
