Cincinnati killing shines light on local domestic violence services

Updated: 13 hours ago

(NORWOOD, OH.) – A young mother was killed at her place of employment in Cincinnati by an ex-boyfriend this week, police said.

27-year-old Alyssa Hill was stabbed while working at the Norwood Skyline Chili and later died at the hospital.

Hill leaves behind two children and the Skyline franchise will donate $25,000 to directly support her kids. It's being matched by Coca-Cola Consolidated

Investigators say she was stabbed by 37-year-old Rick Wright who has now been charged with murder.

Her friends told FOX9 that the two only dated for a month or two and had broken up several years ago.

The tragedy serves as a reminder that domestic violence can occur long after a relationship ends, regardless of how long it lasted.

“It can include current and former spouses, current and former dating couples with or without a child in common and dating couples. Intimate Partner Violence can vary in frequency and severity. It occurs on a continuum, ranging from one hit that may or may not impact the victim to chronic, severe battering,” an expert said.
