Will be 88-room hotel

(GREENDALE, Ind.) – A new hotel is coming to Greendale to support the areas rising tourism.
The 88-room Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel is expected to open in late 2026.
It’s nearly a $17 million investment in the City of Greendale and agreements are in place by Greendale Redevelopment Commission, Dearborn Community Development Corporation, and developer Greendale Hospitality, LLC.
“With snow skiing at Perfect North Slopes, dirt track racing at Lawrenceburg Speedway, live music at Whiskey City’s Liberty Theater, and increasingly more activities and attractions happening year-round in Greendale and across our county, this new hotel will serve as needed, high-quality lodging for the thousands of people who visit our community every year,” said Greendale Mayor Vince Karsteter.
The Greendale Redevelopment Commission is providing a $650,000 economic development grant to enable the project through the land site purchase.
An agreement guarantees the new tax revenue collected from the development will help the city realize a full payback within 10 years, in addition to continuing return on investment for taxpayers for years afterward.
Dearborn County Tourism executive director Debbie Smith said it is a win-win for the community and visitors.
“As Southeast Indiana continues to grow as a travel destination, having more lodging options allows us to better accommodate guests attending local events, exploring our historic towns, or enjoying our many attractions along the Ohio River,” she said.
This will be the second Hilton hotel in Dearborn County as the DoubleTree by Hilton opened at the Lawrenceburg Event Center in 2014.
