(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County Community Foundation (DCCF) is continuing to lead the charge for a new community pool.
DCCF pledged $1M toward the construction of the new community pool in December. That was followed by a $1.5M donation from the Decatur County Redevelopment Commission.
The foundation has now launched a dollar-for-dollar match through February 28.
DCCF will match every donation of up to $300,000 for the community pool.
“The Foundation’s Board of Directors wants to make this a new ‘community’ pool in every sense,” explained DCCF Executive Director Tami Wenning. “That’s why our board has created a match opportunity to encourage the public to support the effort and demonstrate just how much we want a local pool.”
You can make a donation by clicking here.
A check can also be written to DCCF (memo: Pool Project), and mailed to 101 E. Main St., Greensburg.
The pool is estimated to cost $4.5 million and there has been about half of that raised so far.
The $300,000 match challenge will contribute another $600,000 toward the goal.
Initial designs for the pool include a beach area to ensure inclusivity, a family slide, splash pad and other amenities.
The effort to rebuild a local pool was renewed by Commissioner Gabriel Nobbe shortly after he took office last January.
