(GREENSBURG, Ind.) - A Decatur County Health Department official is receiving recognition for going above and beyond in her role.
Alicia Nobbe has been awarded the Presidential Commendation from the Indiana Environmental Health Association (IEHA).
Nobbe has helped implement a county risk-based food ordinance, a swimming pool ordinance, have led community garden initiatives and has advanced food safety programs.
She has also developed community partnerships and increased outreach and education.
“Alicia’s work has been integral to advancing environmental health in Decatur County and across Indiana,” said Health Department Executive Director, Sean Durbin . “Her leadership, integrity, and passion for service make her highly deserving of this recognition.”
The Presidential Commendation is a recognition granted at the discretion of the IEHA President. Alicia is now one of a few health officials who have been given the award.
The award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional service, leadership, volunteer commitment, and contributions beyond their normal duties to further environmental health in their communities and across the state.
“Receiving this commendation is humbling,” said Alicia Nobbe. “I’m grateful to work alongside so many dedicated professionals, and I hope this encourages continued investment in public health across Indiana.”
