(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County residents are encouraged to get involved in the Pack the Patrol Car initiative on Saturday.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Department will be accepting non-perishable food donations at the Greensburg Wal-Mart.
Community members are asked to visit Wal-Mart between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and grab a shopping list of needed items.
All the donations will be distributed to the Greensburg Bread of Life.
“One of the things I enjoy the most is the genuine generosity of so many of our residents – that the people of Decatur County look after their neighbor and are excited for opportunities to do so," said Sheriff Bill Meyerrose
Approximately 11 percent of Decatur County residents struggle with food insecurity, according to the 2024 Feeding America report.
The event is made possible through collaboration between the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Greensburg Bread of Life, and Wal-Mart.
