Decatur Co. United Fund names new director

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County United Fund has named their next executive director. 

Blaire Hornberger has been appointed to the role and will replace Joanne Cunningham, who will retire from the role after 18 years on July 1. 

Hornberger is an IU graduate who has an extensive background in integrated marketing communications, promotion, and community facing engagement. 

She previously was the owner of The Event Rental Gallery in Batesville for more than a decade, and has designed and executed over 600 events. 

“I am honored to join Decatur County United Fund at such a pivotal moment.  I look forward to collaborating with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to strengthen our funded programs and expand our outreach,” Hornberger said. 

DCUF board president Kristen Fry added that Hornberger’s leadership, financial discipline, and ability to connect with people is what stood out in the hiring process. 

“We are confident she will build upon the incredible foundation established by Joane Cunningham while helping expand our reach and strengthen community partnerships,” Fry said.
