(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County REMC will give some local students the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C.
It’s part of the Indiana Youth Tour where local electric cooperatives provide students a weeklong experience in the nation’s capital.
The trip will take place in June and participants will visit historic sites in Pennsylvania before arriving in Washington.
Students will also participate in a youth event hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and spend a day on Capitol Hill, where they will have an opportunity to meet with Indiana’s congressional delegation to ask questions and share their thoughts on a variety of timely issues.
"Decatur County REMC is thrilled to offer this life-changing opportunity to local students," said Decatur County REMC marketing specialist Abby Absher. "The trip allows them to experience government up close, connect with other young leaders, and understand how they can make a real impact in their communities."
