(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg family could use some financial assistance due to a medical situation.
29-year-old Drew Huff was diagnosed three years ago with a rare autoimmune disease known as chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).
“Over the years, I’ve gone through nearly every treatment option available: steroids, Promacta, Rituxan, IVIG, Fostamatinib — all in an effort to keep my platelets stable. Some worked for a while, but none have provided lasting remission,” Drew said.
Last week, he had a splenectomy which forces him to miss work for at least a month-and-a-half.
“I’m not getting paid while I’m out, so I’m asking for a little help getting through this time,” he added.
Any donations will go toward groceries, bills and other essentials for the family.
