Franklin, Fayette County officials coordinated search

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A man that was reported missing from his Brookville home was found safe after authorities used drone technology to locate him.
Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, a missing persons report was issued for the man who was last seen at his home near Franklin County High School early that morning.
Franklin County officials called the Fayette County Emergency Management Agency to provide assistance with their Special Operations Aerial Response drone team.
Aerial searches were conducted with thermal imaging drones. They were conducted by Connersville Police Officer Aaron Wilson, Fayette County EMA Director Wade Walling and Franklin County EMA Director Amy Lindsey.
“The search covered multiple locations near Brookville Lake, starting at Mounds State Park and moving south along State Road 101, ending at Brookville Dam,” said Fayette County EMA Director Wade Walling.
They searched for more than two hours before the man was found safe near his home around 10:30 p.m.
“Having resources like thermal imaging dones help law enforcement and first responders save valuable time and can go into place that people can not,” Walling said.
