Electric vehicle catches fire near Canaan

(CANAAN, Ind.) –  An electric vehicle caught fire in Jefferson County on Sunday night. 

Canaan firefighters responded around 9 p.m. to the area of State Road 62 and County Road 325. 

After the fire was extinguished, a firetruck followed the wrecker back to Madison due to the potential of electric vehicles reigniting. 

The Canaan Fire Department was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department as well as Rivertown Towing.
