Has served on his department for nearly a half-century

(NEW POINT, Ind.) – A New Point firefighter has been nearly a half-century serving his community in multiple ways.
Gary Wolford has been a member of the New Point Volunteer Fire Department for 48 years.
During that time he has spent 30 years as an EMT and was the department chief for 15 years.
He was nominated for the FCN First Responder Spotlight because of his dedication to the fire service as well his longtime commitment to serving others.
“Gary is super dedicated, always at all the fire department functions and volunteers for the town often as well,” the nominator said.
He also serves on the New Point Town Council and works as a loader operator at New Point Stone Company.
Thanks for your service to the community Gary and we hope to celebrate the 50-year milestone with you in the next few years!
