Firefighters battle house fire during frigid conditions

Incident has closed portion of State Road 46

(PENNTOWN, Ind.) – Firefighters are battling a house in Penntown during the bitter cold temperatures on Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 9000 block of State Road 46, which is near the intersection of State Road 46 and State Road 101.
Fortunately, it is not believed that there have been any injuries as a result.
State Road 46 has been closed in both directions in that area as crews remain on the scene.
Agencies on scene include Sunman Fire, Batesville Fire, Morris Fire, Rescue 20 and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office. Milan Fire has also been called to provide mutual aid.
