(DILLSBORO, Ind.) – Friendship firefighters rescued a dog that had fallen through ice on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 2 p.m. at a home on County Road 750 East in Dillsboro.
The dog wandered onto the pond, fell through the ice and wasn’t able to pull itself out.
Firefighters put on ice suits, inflated their RDC watercraft and were able to rescue the dog.
The dog did not have any injuries and was reunited with its family.
“As we go through this thawing, please be diligent with your pets, children and yourself. This turned out to be a happy ending, they all aren’t,” said Friendship Fire Chief Keith Sieverding.
The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Ripley County EMS.
