Five soccer teams earn Sectional crown this weekend

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Five local soccer teams won a Sectional Championship this weekend. 

On the boys side, both Oldenburg and Batesville earned a sectional title and their Regional Semifinal games will be on Wednesday. 

For the girls, the top-ranked Oldenburg Academy Twisters won their Sectional, as well as the defending state champion Lawrenceburg Tigers and the East Central Trojans. 

Here is when the games will be played this week:

Boys

• The Oldenburg Academy boys team will face Southwestern at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15. The game will be played in Madison. 

  
  

• The Batesville Bulldogs will host Charlestown at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Girls

• Oldenburg Academy will visit Monrovia for their Class 1A Regional Semifinal at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

  
  

• The Lawrenceburg Tigers will host Madison at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

  
  

• East Central competes in Class 3A and they will travel to Franklin Central for their game at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
