Franklin Co. school board member earns statewide recognition

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A Franklin County School Board member has received the highest recognition for the position in Indiana.

Kevin Kaiser has been awarded the Indiana School Boards Association’s (ISBA) Exemplary Governance Award (Level 4).

Kaiser has served on the board for just three years and is one of just 59 school board members statewide to earn the Level 4 distinction this year.

The award is based on a board member’s participation in ongoing professional development focused on governance, policy, and student outcomes.

Kaiser was also subjected to a policy review and was judged on his commitment to student achievement and professional learning.

“Serving on the school board comes with a responsibility to be informed and engaged,”

Kaiser said. “Professional development isn’t just a requirement—it’s part of doing the job well and making decisions that are in the best interest of students and the community.”

Kaiser previously served two years as president of the finance board, was elected board president in his third year, and is currently serving in his fourth year as legislative liaison.
