Franklin County students raised $23K on their own!

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The rivalry game between Franklin County and Connersville turns into a major cancer fundraiser every year.
The two schools participate in ‘Beat Cancer in 4 Quarters’ which includes months of fundraising activities ahead of the game.
Franklin County students told teachers that their goal was to raise $20,000 this year.
“I told them if you want it, then go get it,” said co-organizer Brandon Cowen.
The Franklin County students surpassed that amount by raising $23,295!
Connersville students also fundraised bringing the total among the two schools to $30,048.
Franklin County will donate their funds to FC Can and The American Cancer Society.
Teacher Gary Bradburn also challenged the students to raise $7,000 and he would shave his head and get a temporary “FC” tattoo. Mr. Bradburn lived up to the promise.
The annual fundraiser is led by Franklin County faculty members Tanya Wirtz, Emily Blades and Brandon Cowen.
