(NASHVILLE, TN.) – A senior citizen in Tennessee has received a big gift after going viral last week.
A homeowner ordered DoorDash and was surprised to find 78-year-old Richard Pully as the delivery driver.
“Richard delivered Starbucks to my home via door dash and it was evident from the video this was a task for him,” said homeowner Brittany Smith.
Smith later found out Richard was forced to be a delivery driver because his wife lost her job and the couple also needed funds for monthly expenses and medications.
It led Smith to create a Go Fund Me and quickly went viral bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars.
DoorDash contributed $20,000 and also said Pulley had completed more than 6,000 orders.
Pulley was presented a check from Go Fund Me this past weekend that was worth $967,432.
He told a local news affiliate that he plans to continue delivering orders because he enjoys it and it keeps him active.
