(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County officials are giving a glimpse into the future of the fairgrounds.
They are kicking off fundraising for the Decatur County Community Building, which is expected to be complete in February of 2026.
The new multi-use building will seat over 600 people and is being created to be used year-round.
It will have an audio/video system that will be capable of hosting all types of conferences, exhibitions and weddings.
Project officials added that the concrete floor will be thick enough to drive a tractor, semi truck or other farm equipment for displays. There will also be a retractable awning.
“We have a really great fairgrounds, we have a great fair, we have a good solid 4H group, one thing this will really help is other events out here year-round, not just during the fair,” said project official Dennis Fogle.

While the fair is taking place, the footers are already poured and construction will ramp up in the near future.
Donations can be made by contacting the Decatur County Community Foundation or reaching out to a Decatur County Commissioner. You can also contact Dennis Fogle at (812) 614-0634.
