Garbage truck catches fire at Milan High School

(MILAN, Ind.) – Firefighters responded to garbage truck fire at Milan High School on Friday morning. 

The fire started around 5 a.m. in the area between the school and football field. 

Milan Fire Chief Rod Johnson said the garbage truck driver was able to push the trash that had caught fire off of the truck. 

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and the  trash service company took over responsibility for the clean up.

Milan was assisted by Delaware Fire, Affordable Tod’s Wrecker and Service, Ripley County EMA and Ripley County Communications.
